In-Person Payments

Overview

In-Person Payments refer to transactions that occur when a customer makes a purchase at a physical location, such as a retail store, restaurant, or service provider.

This payment type typically involves the use of point-of-sale (POS) systems, which can accept various forms of payment, including credit/debit cards, mobile wallets, and cash.

The process of handling In-Person Payments involves several key steps:

  1. Purchasing Terminal: Merchants can purchase pre-certified payment terminals via our Ryft Portal. These terminals are designed to securely capture payment information and facilitate transactions.
  2. Terminal Setup: Once the terminal is received, it needs to be set up at the merchant's physical location. This includes connecting the terminal to a power source and internet connection, as well as configuring any necessary settings.
  3. Processing Payments: When a customer is ready to make a purchase, the merchant can use the terminal to process the payment. This typically involves swiping, inserting, or tapping the customer's payment card or device.
  4. Transaction Completion: After the payment is processed, the terminal will provide a confirmation of the transaction, and a receipt can be printed or sent electronically to the customer.
